Abenomask” refers to the cloth masks provided by Shinzo Abe, the former Prime Minister of Japan, in 2020 as a measure to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
In response to the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus, Shinzo Abe announced the distribution of cloth masks to every household as a preventive measure. Each household received two cloth masks.
However, the distribution of Abenomasks faced various issues and criticisms. There were complaints about delays in distribution and concerns about the quality and size of the masks.
